While you can also use the Home icon to change your Firefox homepage, this option only allows you to set your start page to open to a preferred URL.

Step 1: Open Firefox and go to the site you want as your homepage.

Step 2: Here, click on the lock icon and drag it onto the Home icon.

Step 1: Open Firefox.

Step 3: Now, go to the Home tab.

Step 4: Click on the ‘Homepage and new windows’ drop-down and select the option you want.

• Firefox Home (Default): This keeps the default Firefox Home as your homepage.
• Custom URLs: This opens Firefox to any custom URL. It can be helpful if you frequently visit any site while using Firefox. You can also set up multiple home pages using this option.
• Blank Page: This option opens Firefox to a blank page. Content icons set for the Firefox homepage will also not appear.

Step 5: Next, click on the New tabs drop-down. Here, select between Firefox opening all new tab pages to either the Firefox Home (Default) page or a blank page.

Step 6: Once done, scroll down to the ‘Firefox Home Content’ tab and select all the features you want for your homepage.

Note: The selected Firefox Home Content items will only appear if the Firefox homepage is set to Firefox Home (Default).

Understanding Firefox Home Content Options

Web Search: This displays a search bar on your homepage, allowing you to instantly look up things using your default search engine.

Shortcuts: This will include shortcuts to the sites that you have either previously visited or saved. Up to 4 rows of shortcuts can be added on a homepage. Uncheck the Sponsored shortcuts box if you do not wish to get recommendations from sponsored sites.

Recent activity: Depending on the options you select, this will display content from your visited pages, bookmarks, recent downloads, and content saved to Pocket. A maximum of 4 rows can be displayed.

How to Customize Firefox Toolbar

Apart from customizing your homepage, Firefox also allows you to personalize the toolbar menu and add other browser control options. With this, you can add items like the Home icon to the menu bar. Follow the steps below.

Step 1: Open Firefox and right-click anywhere on the menu bar.

Step 2: Click on Customize Toolbar.
